Raymond A. Rackley was born on April 25, 1919 in Hugo, Oklahoma, and passed away August 22, 2008 in El Paso, Texas. He retired from Standard Oil Refinery and Served in U.S. Army 5th Calvary from 1941-1945 in Lazon, New Guinea, Bismarck, Archipelago and the Southern Philippines. Raymond is preceded in death by Parents James & Veronah Rackley, brothers; Aaron & James Rackley and sisters; Irene Ball and Louise Eldridge. He is survived by wife; Mamie Rackley, daughter; Linda Elsey & husband Ed, son; David Rackley of Denton, TX., grandsons; David & Amy Thompson of McAllen, TX., Darrel Rackley of El Paso, TX., granddaughter; Jeannie & Joe Moncada of Flower Mound, TX., great-grandchildren; Jacob, Aber, and Brianna Moncada, David & Jessica Thompson. Pallbearers will be David Thompson, Darrel Rackley, Jeff Gosc, Joe Moncada, Jesse Lawhorn and Scott Dell. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 12:15 p.m. at Montwood Church of Christ,11845 Bob Mitchell. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
