In loving memory of Ray Cruz of La Union, NM who peacefully departed on Monday, November 13, 2023. He is survived by a multitude of family members, nieces and nephews.
Ray, now at eternal peace, reunites with his beloved parents, Bernardino and Dolores Cruz, who preceded him in death. Joining them are his sisters, Maria (Cuca) Munoz, Emilia (Milo) Ramos, and Linda (Peewa) Elorduy, as well as his brother, Avelino Cruz.
Ray's journey through life was a field sown with diverse experiences. His glory days found expression in the proud moments he spent wearing the Gadsden Panthers' football jersey during his high school years. However, destiny took him on a different path when he answered the call of the Vietnam Draft, as an Army Parachuter with the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
Retiring after 17 years as an X-ray technician, Ray Cruz exemplified the spirit of an entrepreneur. Whether he was in the realm of racehorses, owning a bar, or cultivating a farm, he embraced the richness of life. Ray's mornings often began with his favorite cup of coffee from the Burger King in Anthony.
