Ray Leone Boyles

April 25, 1923 — September 15, 2012

Ray Leone Boyles, 89, born in Breckenridge, TX, passed away September 15, 2012 in El Paso, TX. He grew up in Pampa, TX where he was an Eagle Scout, a Pampa High School graduate and then graduate of Texas A&M, Class of 1944 with a degree in Accounting & Statistics. He remained an avid lifetime Texas A&M Booster. In World War II, he served as a Captain Infantry Officer in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with Bronze Star, America Theater Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, and Philippine Liberation Medal with Bronze Star. He was a Mason. He moved his family to El Paso in 1951 to work in the insurance business. He enjoyed all sports, especially fishing. He is survived by his daughters Barbara Boyles Blackwell and Mary Kay Boyles Daniels/Farley of El Paso; Texas Aggie grandchildren Monica Daniels Brown/Gerry of College Station, Corbin Blackwell/Natalie and Tyler Daniels/Amanda of El Paso; great grandchildren Jaxson, Johnson, Judson and Jacqueline Brown, Fiona and Emory Blackwell, Aria Bella and Giuliana Daniels. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Mary Virginia Boyles, his parents V.L. & Skete Boyles; Brothers Charles & Bob Boyles and great grandson Jameson Garrett Brown. Thank you Becky, Diony, Erika and all the caregivers for your loving care. Thanks also to Encompass and Envision Hospice especially George. Thanks to his special friend and physician Dr. Muneer Assi. Honorary Pallbearers, Corbin Blackwell, Tyler Daniels, David Graham, Harlie Cox, Gerry Brown, Chuck Hinton, Ross Hinton, David Hinton, David Hampton, Farley Daniels and Tommy Blackwell. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Graveside Services will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 10:30 am. Contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
