Raul Sanchez

Raul Sanchez ( Daffy), 63, born on February 26, 1948. On Saturday, August 13, 2011, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ opened his loving arms and welcomed the gentle and humble soul of his son Raul Sanchez into heaven. Raul was a native El Pasoan, who attended Alta Vista Elementary and Austin High School. He was a loyal and dedicated worker, who prior to retiring worked at Ft. Bliss for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, going to the golf course and having some “cold ones” with his friends. Raul went to join family members who preceded him in death; parents, Margarita Hernandez and Heriberto Sanchez Sr.; bRother, Ramon Sanchez Sr.; sister, Irma Sanchez Avila; and sister-in-law, Alicia Sanchez. He is survived by wife, Graciela Sanchez; daughters, Michelle Griggs (Ted), Cynthia Willey ((Douglas), Monica Sanchez (Bernie), Priscilla Sanchez, and Melissa Sanchez; grandchildren; Lisa Marie and Alexis Griggs, the Willey Clan (Matthew, Morgan, Brittany, and Bryan); and last but not least his daily companion who gave him a lot of love and joy su “Pollito” Damian Gonzalez; brothers, Heriberto Jr., Jesus (Christina), and Ruben (Susie) Sanchez; sister, Carmen (Benito) Ruiz; sister-in-law, Maria Natividad Sanchez; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Daffy, although you are gone you will not be forgotten, our love for you will be with us forever. Visitation will be held from 1-3p.m. with a Scripture Service to begin at 2pm, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast - 4631 Hondo Pass 755-4494. Interment will be private.
