Raul Piña Sr.

In loving memory of Raul Piña Sr, 77, who peacefully passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023. Born in El Paso, Texas, to his parents Agustin and Christina Pina, Raul graduated in 1965 from Jefferson High School and embarked on a journey filled with love and dedication. Raul united his life with his beloved Cecy, sharing a life marked by unwavering commitment and devotion. Throughout his professional career, Raul dedicated 25 years to Merchants Fast Motor Lines, leaving an indelible mark on his colleagues and the industry he served. Beyond his professional endeavors, Raul found immense joy in crafting, pouring his passion into creating beautiful pieces. His creative spirit and meticulous craftsmanship touched the lives of those around him. Raul is survived by his cherished wife, Cecilia Pina, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He leaves behind a legacy carried on by his sons, Raul Pina Jr and Michael Pina, daughter-in-law Sandra Pina, along with his daughter, Yvonne Pina Garcia, and son-in-law Joe Garcia. They, along with his two sisters, Mary Lopez and Dora Sanchez, and six grandchildren – Jazmine, Isaac, Sydney, Raylene, Gavin, and Adrian (AJ) – will forever hold dear the memories of a loving father, brother, and grandfather. In honoring Raul's memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, hard work, and the enduring bonds of family. May he rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday, January 04, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, January, 05, 2024 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9205 N. Loop. Interment will follow at 11:00 AM at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana.
