In Loving Memory of Ramona Nora Peeples
Ramona “Nora” Peeples, age 85, passed away on May 23, 2023, in El Paso, Texas. Born in Greeley, Colorado, she lived a life filled with love, adventure, and dedication to her family and community.
Nora graduated from Odessa High School before relocating to El Paso shortly after completing her high school education. It was in El Paso where she met her beloved husband, Dale Peeples, who was then serving in the Army. They exchanged vows in 1964, and their marriage endured until Dale's passing in 1990. Together, they welcomed two children into the world during their time stationed in Germany before returning to El Paso in 1971.
Nora spent many years working in the El Paso banking industry, leaving a lasting impact on institutions through numerous business acquisitions mergers and name changes over the years—State National Bank, MBank, Texas Commerce Bank, and JP Morgan Chase. She also devoted her time and energy to the El Paso Child Crisis Center, making a difference in the lives of children in need.
While she cherished her professional accomplishments, her heart truly belonged to her family and her beloved dog, Missy. She treasured the special moments spent with her children, Delray and Laura. Nora's grandchildren, Emaleigh Flores and Andrew Taft, brought immense joy to her life.
Though a private person by nature, Nora had a great sense of humor and her love for life shone through in every interaction. She had a particular fondness for her dog, Missy, and their bond brought her immeasurable happiness in her later years. Nora also experienced one of the greatest highlights of her life during a trip to Italy in 2013, creating cherished memories that she held dear.
Throughout her journey, she demonstrated incredible strength, surviving leukemia and other age-related infirmities, always facing life's challenges with resilience. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, displaying unwavering determination and a positive spirit.
Ramona Nora Peeples was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale Jackson Peeples. She is survived by her son, Delray Peeples (California), her daughter Laura Bridges and her husband Ross (Tennessee), her cherished granddaughter Emaleigh Flores, her beloved grandson Andrew Taft, and her sister Faye Cox.
Her family and friends will forever remember Ramona for her kindness, love, and the laughter she brought into their lives. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire generations to come.
May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
