Ramona Caldera Diaz, passed away to eternal life in peace on April 26, 2009. She was born on November 17, 1921 to Maria G. Caldera and Isac Caldera in El Paso, Texas. Resided at 117 Hammet St. where she attended Zavala Elementary School and Bowie High School. She loved sports, especially softball, bowling and soccer. She met and married Enrique (Cherry) Diaz, and were happily married for over 50 years. They enjoyed playing golf and fishing at Azcarate Park and lake. Preceded in death by her husband (Cherry), her parents, Maria and Isac Caldera, an infant son, Ruben Diaz, brothers, Victoriano Caldera and Heliodoro (Lolo) Caldera; sister, Margarita Rosales. Survived by daughters; Marta D. Salas (Alfredo), Yolanda D. Duran; her sons, Henry Diaz (Blanca), Victor Diaz (Bonnie), Ruben Diaz (Alicia), Raul Diaz (Ofelia) and Larry Diaz; sister, Dolores Howorth; 21 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. We would like to thank CIMA Hospice for all their help and assistance. We would like to express an immeasurable gratitude to Tina Vidana, friend and caregiver for all her love and dedication. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, Chapel of Remembrance with a Vigil at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
