Ramon Padilla

On June 29, 2008, Ramon “Ray” Padilla was delivered on eagles wings to Jesus so that he may live his eternal life. He was a faithful servant to our Lord. Ray was a very giving man who always wanted to protect and care for those around him. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Sukie, Father to his daughter, Ceci, and Grandpa to his “girls” Aria and Harmony. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy who served in Vietnam. He was a proud and active member of the Teamsters Local 745, a brotherhood he valued greatly. He will be missed dearly by all whose lives he touched, especially by his family. Preceded in death by his Father, Johnny C Padilla and his brother Peter C Padilla. He is survived by his mother, Nieves O Padilla, his wife, Sukie Padilla, his daughter, Ceci Schlesinger, his granddaughters Aria Farnam and Harmony Schlesinger, his sisters, Grace Navarrette, Virginia Bejarano and Emma Garcia, his brother-in-law Marc Carrillo, and his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The viewing and the Rosary will be at Sunset Funeral Home East located at 750 N. Carolina Dr. Viewing 4-9pm Rosary 7:00 pm on Sunday, July 6, 2008.  Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1315 Travis at 11:30 am. Monday, July 7, 2008. Funeral procession immediately following to Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Burial will be at 1:00 pm. with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
