Ralph Wallace Melin

RALPH WALLACE MELIN passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the age of 82. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and the United States Air Force. Retiring after 24 years of service. Mr. Melin started his third career as an instructor at Miller Institute in Phoenix, AZ where he taught for 7 years. He was offered the position of Master Education Supervisor at ITT Technical Institute, Phoenix Arizona, where he retired after 10 years. He was predeceased by his wife Johanna B. Melin and grandson Ron Kirby. He is survived by his daughter Ulrike Kirby and son in law Armando Montero. His companion Irene Oppenheimer and her family, whom he considered his family. Siblings Joseph Melin, Eleanor Hayes and Liz Gronwoldt. Also mourning his loss are grandchildren Cynthia Mizer and Scott Kirby, and his great grandchildren Alyssa, Emily, Cameron, Natalie and Sabrina. Mr. Melin had many interests; Politics, Music, Travel and for a time Golf. He played the guitar and sang, and for a while played in a band in Phoenix, Arizona; But, his favorite pastime was going to the Brew and playing pool with his friends.
