Ralph “Buzz” E. Kendrick, Jr., passed away on January 20, 2023 at the age of 88. Born on July 18, 1934 to Jerrie Franklin and Ralph Everett Kendrick, Sr., Buzz graduated from Las Cruces High School and was a proud NMSU Aggie and longtime El Pasoan. Buzzy led an incredible life full of wonderful stories, from playing NFL football with the Green Bay Packers under Vince Lombardi to playing softball with Elvis Presley in the Army, Buzz eventually ended up back home in El Paso and opened Kendrick Electric Corp in 1972, operating for over 50 years. In those 50 years, aside from being a dedicated workaholic, he was a proud sponsor of NMSU and UTEP athletics, inducted into the El Paso Sports Hall of Fame, a member of several local softball teams, a founding member of the El Paso Boat Club, which became like a second family, and a part of the local dirt track racing community. Above all, Buzzy loved his family and spending time with his daughter and two grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Ralph and Jerrie, sisters Connie and Colleen and many close friends. He is survived by his family, Judy Kendrick, daughter Kellie Kendrick (Kenn), grandchildren, Dylan Harris (Samantha) and Hannah Harris, nephew, Mace Miller (Rosario) and his sons Cole and Luke Miller and his loyal trusty sidekick Winston.
Celebration of Life will be from 4:00 - 6:00 PM, on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 4848 Alps.
