Ralph Eugene Hamilton

Ralph Eugene Hamilton, 77, died unexpectedly at home in E1 Paso May 3, 2007. He was born January 31, 1930, in Denver and attended schools there and in Wichita and Dodge City. He also attended junior college in Dodge City and New Mexico State University. He served overseas in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1988 he was recognized by the National Range Operations Directorate for 35 years of service to the U.S. Government, including both his military service and many years at White Sands Missile Range where he was an electronic technician. In past years, Mr. Hamilton was an associate member of IEEE, a member of the Pioneers Association of E1 Paso County for whom he conducted Downtown walking tours, of E1 Paso Corral of Westerners, and served on the Board of Stewards of Trinity-First United Methodist Church where he was involved in television ministry technology. As a retiree, he was especially interested in the Southwest International Personal Computer Club for whom taught groups and assisted individuals with their computer problems. He set up the computer lab for the Templeton Research Center of Heritage House, the museum of UTEP history, and was a volunteer at the E1 Paso County Historical Society's Burges House. In recent years, he was Santa C1aus/St. Nicholas for the Magoffin Home's Christmas season tea party. He is survived by his wife, Nancy ofE1 Paso; son, Jay Hamilton and his wife Peggy and children Carol and Ryan of Skiatook, OK; daughter, Jeannie Hamilton and husband Bryan Back and children Jonathan and Carrie of Grasston, MN; and sisters, Mary Ann Moore of Douglass, KS, and Joan Cook and husband Carroll Cook of Palco, KS; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
