Ralph Emory Gibbons

Ralph “Bud” Emory Gibbons, Jr. was taken home on June 6, 2008. He was born in Douglas, Arizona in 1928. Ralph retired as a coating specialist engineer for El Paso Natural Gas after 35 years in 1983. He was a volunteer at the Del Sol Hospital Auxiliary for over 15 years and cared very much for the people he worked with. Ralph was also an active member of Bethany Christian Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; Ralph Emory, Sr. and Mary White Gibbons, and his sister; Mary Beth Whitlow. He is survived by his beloved soul mate of 43 years Wanda Baldwin Gibbons. Ralph is also survived by his children; Christine Gibbons, Gail Spaugy, and Barbara Wall (Jack Wall), Carol Frank, all of El Paso, and Gary Sanders of Beaverton, Oregon, sister; Phyllis Cambell of Safford Arizona, brother; Don A. Gibbons of Farmington, New Mexico, life long friends; Bill Whitlow and Jack Stewart, 6 grand children; 11 great grandchildren; and also many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and his many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 4 pm - 9 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at 10 am at Bethany Christian Church, 10453 Springwood. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers family asks that donations be made to the Bethany Christian Church Memorial Fund or the Del Sol Scholarship Fund at the Del Sol Hospital Auxiliary.
