Rafaela U. Cortez

Our beloved mother Rafaela (Guera) Cortez, 74, joined our Dear Lord, mother, Feliciana Fernandez, loving husband; Pablo Cortez Sr., daughter, Maria G. Reyes and brother, Abelardo Ugarte Sr. on July 19, 2008. Our mother, a member of Santa Lucia Catholic Church, had a great passion for life and showed unconditional love to her entire family. She is survived by her children and their spouses. Queta Romo (Ricky), Maria Lopez (Amado Sr.), Tony Sr. (Elsa), Albert Sr (Vicky), Ismael Sr., (Terry), Martin Sr., Gabriel (Bonnie), Raymond Cortez (Ana) and brother, Raul Ugarte Sr., 25 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and extended family & friends. Special thanks to her devoted caregiver, Paty Oaxaca. Pallbearers will be Ismael Sr., Amado Jr., Tony Jr., Ramon, Vicente & Ricky. Honorary Pallbearers: Ricky Romo, Amado Sr., Tony Sr., Martin Sr., Albert Sr., & Gabriel Cortez. Visitation will be held on Thursday July 24, 2008 from 4 pm. until 9 pm. with a vigil at 7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2008 at Santa Lucia Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services Entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
