Peyton W. Sparks,83, passed away Wednesday, January 9,2008. He was born in Presidio, Texas to Richard and Wilna Sparks on February 9, 1924. He graduated from Ysleta High School in 1942, where he was an All- State Football player. He also attended Texas A&M University. He married Nancy Hemphill on November 25, 1947, and they spent most of their lives in El Paso, Texas. He was a farmer and rancher and also spent many years as a general contractor. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, a grandson Jason Sparks, his parents, a sister and two brothers. He is survived by his son Richard Sparks, his granddaughter Kristi Umberger and her husband Russell and his granddaughter Robin and her fiancé Artie Telles. He is also survived by his five great-grandchildren, Thomas, Patti, Aaron, Taylor and Jenna as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will from 4-9pm Friday, January 11,2008 at Sunset Funeral Homes-East. Prayer Service at 7pm Friday, January 11, 2008 Sunset Funeral Homes-East. Graveside Service at 12pm Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
