Petra "Pat" Loya

Petra V. Loya (Pat), 92, was born in Carlsbad, NM on January 31, 1917. She passed away peacefully on July 11, 2009. Pat grew up in La Mesa, NM where she married Robert V. Loya in 1937. Together they farmed in La Mesa area and managed their apartment buildings in El Paso, Texas for many years. Pat spent the last several years of her life in the home of her daughter Juliette A. Pitt. She was a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church in Anthony, NM after leaving La Mesa and later attended the Abundant Living Faith Center in El Paso. Pat was preceded on death by her parents, Eulogio and Lala Valles, several brothers and sisters, and her husband of 58 years. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law Maxine and Joe Rel, Nel Delfin and Tillie and Joe Chavez, all of Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Olga and Gilbert Mac Donald and Juliette and Robert Pitt of El Paso, Texas and son and daughter-in-law Michael and Lynn Loya of Santa Fe, NM. Surviving grandchildren are Gilbert MacDonald of El Paso, Texas, Ronald and Michael Pitt of Cambria, CA and great grandchildren, Michael Campo and wife, Kayla of Cambria, CA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home-West. 480 N. Resler, El Paso, Texas. A Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-West followed by burial at San Jose Cemetery in La Mesa, NM. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
