Peter Burila

Peter Burila, 77, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Peter was born in Rochester, NY to second-generation Polish parents. He was a schoolteacher and later enjoyed his retirement in various parts of New Mexico.

Peter was often described as intelligent and extremely kind. He was curious by nature to study as much about the world as he could, learning four languages along the way. He was an accomplished guitarist and often enjoyed playing and singing corridos for family and friends. 

One of the most important aspects of his life was his devotion to God and the Catholic faith. He embodied that disposition with respect to everyone he encountered. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Peter is preceded in death by his parents; Peter Decker and Celia Burila, and his beloved wife, Concha Burila. He is survived by his dearest children; Delia Santana (Denise), and Felicia Calderon, his brother Jerry Decker, and 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by many extended family and friends to cherish and honor his memory.
