Peggy A. Kilgore

It is with great sorrow the family of Peggy A. Kilgore announces her passing on Tuesday, January 30^th, 2024, at the age of 75.

Peggy was born in Jackson, MI on September 14, 1948, to Leonard Poole and Barbara Davis Poole.   She graduated from Northwest High School 1966 in Jackson, MI. In 1967 she packed her bags and traveled Route 66 to El Paso, TX. She started a family and called El Paso home for 57 years.

Peggy enjoyed traveling, shopping, visiting casinos, spending time with her grandchildren cheering for them from the stands at sporting events and, crocheting blankets for all the new babies in the family.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas and loved to shop and decorate for the season. She worked for various financial institutions in El Paso as a teller and head teller for 15 years, then after another 6 years as a Title Examiner for Stewart Title she retired.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents: Leonard and Barbara Poole.  She is survived by her husband of 47 years Jessie Kilgore, daughters: Dawn Lavka and Crystal Rivard-Traxler, grandchildren: Kyle Lavka, Teddie Traxler-Erikson, Nikki Wood, Cody Traxler and Brandon Traxler, 5 great grandchildren, sisters: Gail Vaughn and Debbie Todd, 5 nieces and nephews.

Peggy’s family would like to extend their deepest thanks to her dear friend and caretaker Mary Thom for taking great care of her and accompanying her on many adventures.

At her request, Peggy will be cremated, and a private gathering will be held by the family, at a later date.
