Pedro G. Grijalva

Pedro G. Grijalva passed away August 4, 2009 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his brothers John and Isidro Grijalva, his children – Pete Grijalva Jr., David T. Grijalva, Virginia Wells, Eva Melendez and Victor Grijalva, his grandchildren – Erika Grijalva, Rene Grijalva, Diana Grijalva, Stacey Grijalva, Sabrina Wells and Victoria Ferguson, and his great –grandsons – Angel and Alec Grijalva. Pedro is predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, his brothers, and sisters. He was born on July 31, 1928 in Ysleta and grew up on his father’s farm. Later, he joined the Air Corps and wed Mary in 1950. Together they built a successful farm business. Pedro was a role model, lovingly teaching his children and grandchildren the value of hard work. He exemplified what it took to be successful: discipline, dedication, and passion for life. His legacy of successful business practices and love of life will forever live on through his children and grandchildren. Dad will be remembered for his honesty, generosity, determination, and humor. He was a man who befriended most people he met. He joins Mary in Heaven and will be missed greatly by family and friends. We love you Dad! Visitation will be h from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at San Antonio De Padua Catholic Church, 503 Hunter. Interment will be at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
