Pearl E. Ehrcke

December 11, 1915 — February 12, 2012

Pearl E. Ehrcke, 96, born December 11, 1915, went Home to be with Jesus February 12, 2012. She was well-known as Grandma Pearl to everyone she met. You were a stranger for only a few seconds of initial introduction after which you felt warmed on the inside with her happy smile and kind words. Many knew her also through her famous “Grandma Pearl’s Kitchen Towels.” The joy of her life was to crochet each one with just the right color and then choose exactly the right button to match the towel’s pattern. No one knows how many of her towels grace kitchens all over the world because of her tender loving hands and caring heart. Grandma Pearl loved amazing people feel special. She wrote notes on cards of all kinds from Birthday to Anniversary to Sympathy or Just Thinking of You. She rarely missed a special date on her calendar of remembrances. This very special lady who was loved by all who knew her is survived by her daughter, Ivaleen Roberts; two granddaughters Lori Warren (John) and Crystal Oddo; and four great-grandchildren—David Warren, Dawn Warren, Isaac Oddo and Jason Oddo. She was known as Grandma Great to her great-grandchildren. Because she believed in Jesus Christ and professed Him as Lord and Savior, she is now safely in Heaven with Him and many loved ones who preceded her, including her husband of nearly 60 years, William J. Ehrcke (Grandpa Bill). We will miss you, Grandma Pearl, but we are happy for you that you are finally well again. Though today is our time to grieve, today is your time to dance! Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home located at 480 N. Resler, El Paso, Texas. Visitation/Viewing will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, February 17, 2012. Closed-casket memorial service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Interment will be at the Ehrcke burial plot in Michigan.
