Pauline Dorothy Jenkins

Pauline D. Jenkins “Nanny”, 78. El Paso resident died in her home on March 10, 2008 of a terminal illness. Pauline was born on September 12, 1929 in Southampton, England to David and Liberina Collier. She was one of ten siblings. She came to the US in 1953 and married Billy D. Jenkins her spouse of 54 years. She was a Red Cross Volunteer at William Beaumont Hospital for over twenty years from 1975 until 1998. She resided in the Northeast of El Paso since 1969 until her illness required her to move in with her family in North Hills. She is survived by her son Kevin Jenkins and wife Roseanne and her daughter Karen Jenkins Herrera and husband Robert. She had seven grandchildren Blake Massey wife Christy, Tara Jenkins, Alyssa Herrera, Robert Herrera and Ana Herrera, Kyle Gorham (deployed) and Christopher Gorham. Three great-grandchildren Andrew Massey, Dylan Massey, and Jazlynn Jenkins. One brother Ian Collier and wife Patsy and sister Maureen Collier along with many nieces and nephews in England, along with many in-laws in Indiana. She is predeceased by her husband Billy who passed away on January 2, 2007. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 5-9 at the Sunset Funeral Home on Hondo Pass, with a Rosary/Vigil at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday March 14th at Christ the Savior Catholic Church on Wadsworth. Internment will be at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Blake Massey, Robert Herrera Jr., Carlos Hernandez, Ernesto Valle, Guillermo Martinez, Rudy Aponte, Rolando Picazzo, and Matthew Guerrero. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 Tribute # 21078192 or La Mariposa Hospice, 1250 Cliff, Ste.5E, El Paso, TX 79902.
