Paul B Wingo, 82, passed away on June 4, 2013. He was born in Yukon, West Virginia, and met his wife, Laura at age 15 and married her at age 21. He then served 20 honorable years in the United States Army and retired as a Sergeant 1st class. He served in both the Korean and Viet Nam Wars, and was a recipient of numerous merits and accommodations for his service. He was also an instructor for the Core of Engineers at Fort. Knox. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Laura Wingo, of 61 ½ years, Daughters Linda Hash and spouse Al, Bonita Whitman and spouse David, sons Matthew Wingo and wife Linda, Jon Wingo and wife Hilda, and several wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom he adored immensely! Some of his most cherished memories are of spending time with the woman whom he always called his beautiful wife, sitting on the porch together, discussing life’s special moments and talking about his adoring family. He lived out his last years as a resident in El Paso, Texas. He was greatly loved and will be missed. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm, Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm, Monday, June 10, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, with a Committal Service to be followed at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
