Retired SFC, PAUL GANTT, 75, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017. Paul was born February 8, 1941 in Glenn Dale, Maryland. Paul, the son of the late Robert Gantt and Florence Agnes (Hamilton), entered the U.S. Army at Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri on December 27, 1959. As a soldier, he served at Ft. Devens, Massachusett; Munich, Germany; Ft. Belvoir, Virginia; Gersaewske Barracks, Germany and Vietnam. He retired from the Army on July 31, 1981. Paul moved to El Paso, Texas to continue work as a civilian at Fort Bliss, Texas as a construction machine foreman and supervisor. He enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with his family, and eating out each week at his favorite restaurant, Golden Corral. He continued his education and received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology Education. Paul accepted Christ into his life 1982 and was a faithful member of Holy Light Church of God in Christ, where he first served as part of the church maintenance team, finance officer, deacon and elder. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his lovely wife, Leana M. (Wynne) Gantt, whom he married on September 23, 1983; sons, Timothy, Marcus, Britton and James; daughters, Natalie, Bridgette and Deanna; grandson and granddaughter; brothers, Richard (Joyce) and George Gantt; brother-in-law, Ray Wynne; sisters-in-law, Harriett Wynne Mason and Eissie Everett; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
