Pamela Lynn Crowley

January 16, 1959 — September 17, 2023

El Paso

Pamela Lynn Cooper Crowley, 64, of San Antonio, Texas, entered heaven on September 17, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 16, 1959, in Washington D.C., to parents Mary Ellen Hatton Cooper and Jerry Spencer Cooper, their first child of 3.

Growing up in a military family, the family transferred to various bases including Taipei, Taiwan, until they settled in Bossier City, Louisiana.  There Pam graduated from Parkway High School and attended Louisiana State University Shreveport.  There she served as President of Tri Delta Sorority and received a Bachelors in Sociology.

In 1980, she married and had 2 beloved children, Kara Lynn Curlin (Crowley) and Jared Spencer Crowley. Her children were her absolute pride and joy. She loved and served them with a Christlike heart.

As a military wife, she supported her family through different station assignments until settling in San Antonio, TX.  There, she was extremely active in caring for her children, taking them on memorable trips, and supporting their passions and education. She also worked for periods of time at her children’s schools and at Flight Safety International, a job she loved.

Her own greatest passion was in the kitchen and caring for her home.  She was an excellent cook and carried the tradition of special family recipes, which she often passed on as wedding gifts to the women in her family.  Affectionally known as Grammie, she made unforgettable memories teaching her 3 grandchildren to make special holiday treats.  Her specialty was a beautiful carrot cake that is hands down the best carrot cake around!

She was a strong woman of faith and used that strength to advocate and care for her son, Jared, who has special needs. She was the epitome of a self-sacrificing mother to give Jared the wonderful life he lives today.  A highlight they shared together was taking him to Greece in 2012 to compete in the International Special Olympics for softball, where he and his team beat the Russians for the gold medal.

In her 50’s, she became an independent woman and entered the workforce full time at Denton & Navarro Law.  During this period, she displayed unwavering faith and hope through balancing life’s challenges, work, and caring for her adult son.  That faith, hope, and personal relationship with Jesus continued through her battle of cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry Spencer Cooper and Mary Ellen Hatton Cooper, and niece, Sarah Elizabeth Cooper.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kara Lynn Crowley Curlin and Randon Price Curlin, son, Jared Spencer Crowley, grandchildren, Taylor Lynn Curlin, Price Case Curlin, and Layla Sarah Curlin, brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Sandy Brandt Cooper, brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Sandra Erickson Cooper, nieces and nephews, Kristen Dain, Katie Farley, Samuel Cooper, Seth Cooper, and Sophie Cooper.

A memorial service will be held in San Antonio on November 4, 2023 at 10am in the Bluebonnet Room of Oak Hills Church.
