Otilia Gonzalez

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Otilia Gonzalez, 92, was called to her heavenly home on October 14, 2020 where she was reunited with her husband, Domingo, parents Jose and Maria Ponce, sisters Hortencia Garcia and Manuela Rodriguez and beloved grandson, Andrew Gonzalez. Tila was a devout Catholic and dedicated housewife. She was very involved with the prayer group and choir at Santo Nino de Atocha Church. She lived her life for her family; loving to cook for anyone that came to visit. Sunday nights were always bean burrito night with her home-made flour tortillas. She truly valued the importance of education and was so proud of all her children and their accomplishments. Left to cherish her memory are those she lived for and loved most, her children, daughter Linda Gonzalez-Hensgen (Pete), sons Frank Gonzalez (Maria) and Jose Martin Gonzalez; grandchildren, Lisa and Amanda Gonzalez and John Paul Hensgen; and great grandchildren Ryan Gonzalez and Sergio Gramer. She is also survived by sisters Lucia Barraza and Maricruz Marquez as well as many other loving members of her family. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Bienvivir Alzheimer’s unit; their dedication to providing loving and quality care over the last 8 years was a blessing to her and the entire family. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am, with Rosary at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery but will be limited to immediate family members only. She will be laid to rest alongside our dad.
