Oscar H. Rodriguez

Oscar Hevia Rodriguez, 89, died peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the son of Ovidio and Margarita (Hevia) Rodriguez. He was a graduate of Bowie High School and married his high school sweetheart Lily Urquidi on May 11, 1942. After 22 years of service in the Air Force Oscar retired as a Warrant Officer and served another 22 years as a Branch Chief with the Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his sister’s Avelina and Olga. He is survived by his wife; Lily, three sons; Oscar, Johnny, and Robert Rodriguez, eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm Sunday, July 26, 2009 with a Vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East located at 750 N. Carolina Dr.. Funeral Mass will be at 12 noon on Monday, July 27, 2009 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1050 N. Clark, El Paso, Texas 79905. Interment will follow at 1:30 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
