Oscar V. Escobar, 70, a True Hero, Wonderful Husband, Amazing Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, and Friend, earned his wings on May 31, 2017. He is preceded in death by his Father Frank Escobar and Mother Alicia Escobar. He is survived by his dedicated wife Norma Jean of 48 years; daughter Jeanette Nicole; Grand-daughter Nicolette Danielle, Mother in law, Connie Madero, Father in law Frank Madero; sisters, Sister Evangeline Escobar, Rebecca Baca, Dolores Smith, and brother in laws Joe Smith, Robert Leber, Sister in law Yvette Leber and nephews Michael Leber, Joe Baca Jr. Gabriel Baca, Daniel Baca, David Smith, Robert Smith, Brian Smith, and niece Bernadette Baca-Cox. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas, he led a fulfilling productive life. He Graduated from Austin High School, Attended Texas Western University, and honorably served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves. He was the Chief Electrician at Asarco for over 25 years, taught at El Paso Community College and was a contributor for Habitat for Humanity, he was the Chief Electrician at the Rogelio Sanchez Unit for 12 years. He enjoyed shooting, visiting with his friends, and crossword puzzles. In lieu of flowers, Donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital will be appreciated. Thank you for all prayers and support. Visitation: 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30 pm Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 4805 Byron Street. Committal Service to follow at 1:30pm at Ft.
