Olivia R. Samaniego

Olivia R. Samaniego, 90, born July 4, 1920 in Durango, Mexico passed away on April 18, 2011 in Pueblo, Colorado. She was united in marriage to Carlos A. Samaniego, Sr. in 1941 and together they had 3 beautiful children. On Jan. 7, 1958 she became a naturalized American citizen. She was a former Retail Manager for Glass Apparel located in El Paso, Texas. She was a member of the "Silverettes" dance group at Wellington Chew Senior Citizen Center and a member of the Altar Society of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Sr. and grandson David A. Medrano. She also survived her combined 9 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Olivia Carol and Gene Meek of Colorado City, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Carlos and Virginia Samaniego; son and daughter-in-law, Armando and Martha Samaniego; and nephew, Ed Jacobson, all of El Paso, TX. She was blessed in life with 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren who reside in Texas and Colorado. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm with a Rosary/Vigil to begin at 7pm on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 10am, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 2709 Alabama Ave. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
