On Wednesday September 9, 1936, the world was blessed with the birth of Olga C. Sánchez, who captured our hearts and bolstered our smiles. It is with immeasurable sadness to announce that our sweet angel was taken from us after 84 wonderful years of life on Wednesday, August 17th, 2021. Olga’s journey was full of love, integrity, and determination. Her love, unwavering like the immeasurable expanse of the universe. Enveloping all she adored the way fireflies illuminate the endless sky. She imprinted on our souls like footprints caressing sand. With every breath, her integrity shone as vividly as starlight emanating from an infinite galaxy. Olga’s determination was unparalleled, her focus incomparable. She always let you know how special you are, and there was never anything left unsaid. Her life was full of adventure and accomplishment. She was employed with El Paso Community College and retired after 33 fantastic years. Olga was a beautiful, intellectual, autonomous, humble, high spirited, compassionate, kind, leader whose heart conquered all things. She loved to read and was an amazing storyteller. Olga was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, friend, and an amazing human being. She created such lovely memories full of wonder and laughter. Her car rides were epic, her unmatched devotion to her favorite restaurant in the whole wide world The Lunch Box was classic, and her boundless ability to share her wisdom and artistic expression through singing was limitless. Oasis, of knowledge, compassion, and love Luminous, lighting up our lives with hope, humility, humor, and candor Gallant, sharing her strength, grit, and self-confidence Altruistic, magnanimous heart, selfless, and kindness on an infinitely exponential level Olga is survived by her daughter Lorena Lerma and her husband Ruben Lerma, her sister Ofelia Corral, and her former spouse Pedro Sanchez. Her seven grandsons, Joshua Lerma, Mathew Lerma (Isabel), Ivan Lerma (Valerie), David Arellano (Lisa), Felipe Arellano, Jacob Arellano (Elizabeth), and Jonathan Arellano. Her two great grandchildren, Ezlo and Rosalina Arellano. Preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo and Rosario Corral, her brothers, Eduardo and Oscar Corral, her daughter, Jessica Arellano. Olga will always be remembered and will never be forgotten. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 7712 S. Rosedale. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery.
