Ofelia Aguilera Chacon, 84, passed away peacefully at home with her children at her side on May 8, 2021.
Born on August 10, 1936 in Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, to Eusebio Aguilera & Guadalupe Acosta. She married Eduardo Mendoza Chacon in July 1961. Ofelia was a devoted wife & loving mother to her five children, nine grandchildren & three great-grandchildren. She was a piano teacher who especially loved teaching children & took her skills on the road to various Catholic churches throughout El Paso, including, but not limited to, St Anthony’s Seminary & the Monasteries of Perpetual Adoration. Ofelia loved gardening and visiting nurseries. She was a devout Catholic who relied heavily on her faith throughout her life.
Ofelia is preceded in death by her husband & parents, her siblings Ernesto, Hortensia, Ralph, Fernando, Richard, Eduardo, Carmela & Jesus Aguilera. She is survived by her sisters, Victoria Hellweg, Lourdes Perez, & Dolores Kelley, her children, Teresita Lozano (Jose), Eduardo Chacon Jr, Veronica Bartlett (Mike), Alfonso Chacon, & Lourdes Reyes, & her grandchildren, Michael Wayne Bartlett, Crystal Marleen Salcido, Rebecca Michelle Bartlett, Matthew Edward Bartlett, Daniela Michelle Chacon, Emily Christine Chacon, Eduardo Antonio Chacon, David Joseph Chacon & Sophia Gabriela Chacon.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. May 20, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
