Nithoska Nicolette Anderson-Ayong, age 39, loving mother of Divine Jr., and adoring wife to husband Divine Ayong Sr., passed away in the early hours of the 27th of October after a courageous battle against breast cancer. Nithoska, affectionately known as “Nicky” was born in 1982 in Charleston, South Carolina although you could not tell her she was not a Colonensa from Panama. Nicky grew up in Panama and Germany surrounded by her large family; she had 4 siblings and a lot of aunts and uncles. Nicky was influenced by her family to be a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to others, and exploring other cultures. She had a passion and the perfect personality for teaching which led to her success as a Clinical Systems Trainer at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Nicky was able to visit countries in North, Central, and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. She met her husband Divine in 2011 while working overseas in South Korea and they fell for each other over a shared love of exploration, adventure, and travel. As a wife, she was loving and intentional in her dedication to building a lasting legacy. In Divine’s own words, “Nicky was the rock of our family.” As a mother she was generous, loving and kind, ensuring to introduce Junior to all the adventures the world has to offer while instilling in him a devotion for Christ and an understanding of the importance of family. As a daughter she was a God-fearing virtuous woman who had a contagious zest for life. As a sister she was always reminding us that she was the eldest and we better listen to her! Ok! As a friend she was selfless and giving with a genuine desire to see all those around her prosper.
Nicky will be greatly missed by her family who adored her with all of their hearts. “We know that we can’t have you here with us but we’re at peace knowing that you have taken your heavenly seat at the right side of our father God. This is not goodbye, but rather a see you later to a wonderful woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.”
Nicky is survived by her husband Divine Ayong Sr., her son Divine Ayong Jr., her parents Wilfredo Anderson Sr. and Nilsia Anderson, her Grandmother Elena Laing-Feron and her siblings Janelle Mccutchen, Chandelle Anderson, Nathania Anderson, Wilfredo Anderson Jr., and her brother-in-law Seymour McCutchen Jr.
Nicky was preceded in death by her Grandparents Wilfred and Mabel Anderson, and Vernon Laing.
“…for we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.”
