Nieves O. Padilla

Nieves O. Padilla, 86, was called home to our Lord on June 17, 2010 and was reunited with her husband and sons. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother, who had a smile that would light up the room and with that smile she could do no wrong. She was the light of our life; though that light has faded she has left us the strength. “ PARA VIVIR UN DIA A LA VEZ.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Concepcion “Johnny” Padilla, her two sons; Pedro C. Padilla and Ramon Padilla and sister; Hortencia Montalvo. Nieves was survived by her daughters, Graciela P. Navarette, Virginia Bejarano, and Emma Garcia, 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, her sisters Beatrice Escobar, Delia Davidson, Elisa Guerra as well as brothers; Alfredo Ortega and Raul Ortega; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, to include her nephew who loved her as a grandmother, Roberto Guerra. Viewing will take place on Sunday, June 20, 2010 between 4 pm and 9 pm and Rosary 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home East 750 N. Carolina Dr. Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church 1050 N. Clark Dr. Monday June 21, 2010 at 11 am and Burial immediately following at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr.
