Neomi Beatrice Glass departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. Neomi Beatrice Glass was born on July 3, 1947, to Jesse and Mattie Parks in El Paso, Texas. She was the fourth child of 13 siblings and was often regarded as a nurturing and loving big sister and aunt. At an early age, Neomi loved to sing. She comes from a musically gifted family. Prior to serving on the praise/worship team at her local church, this melodic musical vocalist, sang at special events, and sometimes accompanied her siblings in special selection requests at the local church. Neomi also worked in the service industry and she derived satisfaction in helping others. This sparked a desire to pursue and complete an associate’s degree in hospitality/travel and tourism. She is preceded in death by her husband of 33 years Phillip C. Glass, father- Jesse Parks, mother- Mattie Parks, sisters Earlene Parks, Betty Flowers and Martha Smith. She is survived by eight siblings: Jesse Parks Jr. (Ramona), Nathan Parks (Patricia), Earl Parks (Aden), Mable Cartridge, Theresa Gallard, Rose Marie Sweed, Elaine Parks, Rhonda Grant and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Service will be from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Visitors Chapel AME Church, 518 N. Estrella. Interment will be held at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
