Nellie Sue Nevarez

Nellie Sue Nevarez, born August 21, 1935, passed away October 18th 2009 at Mountain View Regional Hospital in Norton, VA. She was a long time resident of El Paso, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents Victor and Margarite Quintero; her son John Anthony Nevarez and daughter Bonnie Nevarez, all of El Paso, Survivors include her children, Rose and Daniel Nelson of Wise, VA, Sally Nevarez, of El Paso, Texas. Samuel Nevarez of El Paso Texas; her brother, Jack Victor Quintero and her sister Victoria Quintero Corrales, all of El Paso. She has six grandchildren, Anthony Jason Hernandez, Tabetha Cruz of El Paso, Paul Legaspi of NM, Michelle Nelson Hamm, Daniel Nelson II and Jonathan Nelson of Wise, VA. She also has six great-grandchildren, Winfred Hamm 3rd, Rozylnd Hamm, Japheth Hamm, Devin Legaspi, Caitlin Legaspi, Dominic Legaspi and several nephews and nieces, and great nephew and nieces. Nellie worked in the El Paso School system as a cook and as a nurse’s aide at various nursing homes. She will be missed by all who love her. Nellie’s visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. (time pending) Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Interment will be at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
