Miram Josephine Barefoot
Born May 10, 1931 in Godwin, NC . A resident of El Paso for 51 years passed away at home in peace on October 19, 2006.
She was preceded in death by her husband William B. Barefoot and her daughter Rhonda Vance. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Dani Mory (Dennis)of Raleigh, NC and Mary Hartley (Steve) of El Paso; her granddaughters Avery Tiffany Vance and Ketura Vance of El Paso; three great-grandchildren, Makayla, Jaiden and Cheyenne; surviving brothers Tommy Tew, Lemon Tew and sisters Ernestine Westbrook, Annie Faircloth all of North Carolina and Brenda Howell of Georgia.
Jo was a devoted mother and friend. She worked as a beautician for over 30 years and was a dedicated member of Faith Methodist Church where she served as Lay Leader and was a member of the Board. She took great pleasure in teaching Sunday school and especially enjoyed teaching the young children left in her care. She volunteered tirelessly for the United Women’s Methodist organization, the Society of Military Widows and The Grapevine Thrift store at Faith Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be held Monday, October 23rd at 10:00 am at Faith Methodist Church with Reverend Rick Parker officiating. Internment will be at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery at 11:30 am.
