Miguel Gonzales

Miguel G. Gonzales was born on May 5th, 1927 in Albuquerque, N.M. and died on January 7th, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Adolfo and Palmidia Gonzales, and brothers; Israel Gonzales, Rodolfo Gonzales, and Jacob Gonzales. He is survived by his daughter, Joennette Sanchez, son-in-law Eduardo Sanchez, grandson Edward P. Sanchez, granddaughter Kathryn H. Sanchez, his sisters; Rachel G. Solis and Michaela G. Melendez, his brother; Leo Gonzales, and numerous nephews and nieces. Miguel moved to El Paso with his parents when he was seven years old. He attended Houston and Austin High. He then enlisted in the Army on December 28, 1945 and was honorably discharged on December 16, 1948. He worked for Southern Pacific Rail Road for thirty two years until his retirement in 1988. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
