The world lost a wonderful person on January 8, 2024. After a brave and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer, Michael Richard Kastner passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born on June 25, 1965. He graduated from Andress High School in 1983. After high school, he lived on the beach on Amelia Island in Florida. He loved collecting shark's teeth and enjoying the beautiful sounds of the ocean.
He returned to El Paso and earned his Bachelor's degree in 2001. He taught various subjects at Edgar Park Elementary School for 19 years until his diagnosis in February of 2023. He was extremely honored and proud to have been voted "Teacher Of The Year" in 2007.
Mike loved driving his truck, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, spending time with family, and taking his beloved shepherd Luca to the park. Most of all, he loved collecting unique guitars and making beautiful music with them. He was incredibly talented.
He had a million dollar smile, and a beautiful magical soul. His energy was infectious. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.
Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 3 o'clock p.m. on Saturday February 3rd at RJ's party Hall at 4948 Hondo Pass. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, a donation to honor his memory be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at https;//pancan.org.
