MICHAEL DEAN HORNER passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the age of 62. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Michael had a career in law enforcement serving with the Galveston County Sheriff, Sam Houston State University Police, and Huntsville Police departments. He retired as a Supervisory Special Agent after 25 years of service with the Drug Enforcement Administration. After retirement Michael enjoyed spending his time (and money) as a sales associate at Academy Sporting goods. He loved working with the associates, customers and dreaming of hunting and fishing. He also spent a year sharing his passion of law-enforcement as a criminal justice instructor in El Paso. He was a patriot and loyal American who believed in a hard day's work, and would do anything for anyone in need. He was predeceased by his parents Anna Margaret and Cloyce Horner. He is survived by his wife, of 41 years of marriage, Jill, his son Michael Dean Horner Jr. (Connie), grandchildren; Ryan Dean Horner, Brandy Morgan and Erik Morgan, brother Stephen Glenn Horner, sister Karyn Ann Reyna, and man's best friend Buster Brown. He was a mentor to a lot of people and as an uncle he valued his time talking with nieces and nephews listening and sharing his wisdom, experience, strength, and hope.
