Michael Dean Heaton April 27, 1958 resident of El Paso, TX passed away peacefully at his home on February 5, 2016, after a courageous battle of MDS and pneumonia.
Mike was born in Harbor City, CA to Joseph and Janet Heaton moving onto Carlsbad, CA. He was the beloved husband of Grace Heaton for over 30 years. Mike will forever be remembered by his devoted brother Mark and caring cousins, in-laws David/Angela, Rebecca/Leslie, Alexander/Marie, Andrew and Mary. Also, caring nephews Leslie/Linda, Lane/Beth, Andrew, Christopher and Alexander, nieces Alyssa/Will, Ashley, Cristal/Matt and Jennifer. He excelled in sports at Carlsbad High School and Butte College before signing a contract with the California Angels organization in 1978 bringing him as a pitcher for the El Paso Diablos giving him the nickname “The Heater.” Wonderful times at the old Dudley field.
Mike loved sports especially his San Diego teams. He loved TV, movies/music/concerts especially the Doobie Brothers, but mostly loved being with family and having fun with friends and his pets.
Mike enjoyed working with and for some great bosses which he was most grateful for. Mike touched the lives of many people with his generosity and always maintained his trademark sense of humor throughout his illness. We’ll cherish his memories always.
