In Loving Memory of Michael Darryl Brown
Mr. Michael Darryl Brown was born on May 18, 1951 in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan to the late Manuel Sr. and Rose Marie Brown. "Big Mike," as he was also know as, graduated from Central High School in 1969 and attended college. He was the proud, lovely father of one daughter, Lakeisha Henry of Killeen, TX and three grandchildren, Jaylin, Ja'mari, and Jalize. He moved to El Paso, TX in 2004 following an injury. Under the watchful care of his loving, devoted sister Lisa Jewell, he was guided and nursed back to health and lived a full and wonderful life until he entered into eternal rest quietly and peacefully at home on June 5, 2024 surrounded by his loving sister, Lisa and friends. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Brown. He was a well established graphic artist whose talents were on display throughout America. His smile would light up a room and he would always make you forget what troubles you had. "Big Mike" enjoyed drawing, painting, doing word search puzzles, eating his favorite snacks, and watching his favorite TV shows. He was a caring, happy person who loved life. Michael loved his family dearly. He had a lot of extended family and friends, and will truly be missed. He leaves us with peace, Faith, love, and gratitude. He taught us what it meant to be a fighter. "Big Mike" showed us how to persevere in spite of and to be all you could be. He leaves to cherish his memories; his daughter, Lakeisha Henry of Killeen, TX; grandchildren: Jaylin, Ja'mari, and Jalize; brother, Manuel Brown of El Paso, TX; sisters, Brenda Brown of San Antonio, TX and Lisa Jewell (Tyrone) of El Paso, TX; nieces, Crystal and Nicole; nephews, Dennis (Thais), David (Tujwana), Quinton, Jerome (Alexis), Brannan, and Jaxson (Kianna); sister-in-law, Janet Brown; his true best friends, Carolyn Smith and Tyrone Nixon, and childhood friend, Willie Jones; and a host of other relatives and friends, all of whom he loved dearly.
