Merwin R. "Merv" Morgan

Merwin R. Morgan, (Merv) 73, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2007 in El Paso. Mr. Morgan grew up in Artesia, New Mexico. He graduated from Hardin Simmons University and Eastern New Mexico University. Mr. Morgan retired from the El Paso Independent School District, where he served as Assistant Principal at Irvin High School for many years. Merv was the owner of Skyline Awards and Engraving and was a Rotarian for over 33 years and a member of the Vista Hills Rotary Club. Merv was also named Northeast Citizen of the Year and received the El Paso City Conquistador Award. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and a very active Northeast Citizen. Mr. Morgan served in the Army National Guard. Survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jackie Morgan; son, Dr. Melville L. Morgan, mother, Cleo Morgan, and sister, Ann Porter, and former exchange student and friend, Julia Kokina. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
