Merardo O. Gutierrez

Merardo “Mera” O. Gutierrez owner of Mera’s Appliance passed away on May 10, 2010. Born October 22, 1936, he was the son of Victor Gutierrez and Genoveva Walters. He is survived by his loving wife Velma Dutchover Gutierrez. Also survived by his son; Mark Gutierrez, his daughters Ruby Acosta, Kathy Vasquez, Lori Unzueta, Lucille Balcazar, Joyce Chavez, and Yvonne Knight. He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren, his brother Carmelo Gutierrez, sisters; Carmen Rosa Lopez, and Gloria Chavez and many loving family members. He attended Ysleta High School and played for their football team. He was a golden gloves champion, he owned his own baseball team, and sponsorships, he loved to travel to Las Vegas and most of all spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. “We know you are resting in peace at God’s side and you will never be forgotten.” Vigil will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Ave. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
