Maximo Torres, Sr. (Max) passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012. Max was a retired self employed scrap metal contractor and truck driver. He worked at W. Silver Recycling Company for over 30 years. He was born September 30, 1928 in Pomona, California to Gregorio and Angela Fonseca de Torres. He was raised in El Rancho de Las Palmas, San Jose de Gracia Silao, Gto. Mexico. Max met and married Maria Trinidad de Covarrubias.
Preceded in death by Maria Trinidad and his son Jorge Luis, Sr. He is survived by sons Ernesto C., Maximo Jr., (Marie), Daniel (Mari), Roberto. Daughters Irma, Nellie Salas (Juan), Marisela Lopez (Roy). Grandchildren Jorge Jr., Alex, Johnny, Bobby, Randy, Peter, Alexis, Marcos (Maggie), Sidney and Chelsie. Great grandchildren, Steven, Bianca, Andrew, Jacob, Julio, Jacob, Trinity Marie. Brother Lorenzo Torres, sister Modesta Sarabia. Sisters-in-law Maria Velasquez and Carmen Munoz, brother-in-law Manuel Covarrubias. The family would like to express their gratitude to CIMA Hospice Healthcare; Claudia, Jose and Pedro, and his homecare provider Elvira Cardenas for their help and support.
Visitation will be 3-9 pm Sunday, March 11, 2012 with a vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East, located at 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 am Monday, March 12, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
