Matilde Apodaca

June 14, 1932 — March 17, 2011

In loving memory of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister, and aunt, Matilde Apodaca, 78. She was a lifelong resident of Socorro and member of La Purisima Catholic Church. Survived by beloved husband of 54 years, Elizario “Chayo” Apodaca; children Becky and Tito Lujan, Delia and Kenneth Schwartz, Gina and Henry Moss, Roland and Cecilia Apodaca, and Valerie and Henry Martinez, all of El Paso; grandchildren, Gilbert, Ashley, and Justin Lujan; Jonathan Moss; Roland Apodaca Jr.; great- grandchildren Luke and Camilla. Preceded in death by brother Ricardo Carbajal and sister Margarita Jurado. The Apodaca Family would like to thank Las Palmas Medical Center, Su Casa Home Health, Hospice El Paso, our new- found friend Maritza, Dr. Raul Portillo, Dr. Jose Ramirez , Dr. Abedin, Deacon William Reyes, and Most of all Dr. Carlos Velez, and their staffs, for caring for our beloved Matilde. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2011 at La Purisima “Socorro Mission” Catholic Church (Hall). A Vigil will follow at 7:00 p.m. at La Purisima “Socorro Mission” Catholic Church (Hall). Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at La Purisima “Socorro Mission” Catholic Church (Hall), located at 328 S. Nevarez. Interment will follow at Socorro Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Americas.
