Matias DeLa O

On Wednesday, February 17, 2021 Matias (Flash) DeLa O (71) saluted one last time, laid down his saber and picked up his angelic wings. If you asked a hundred people who Matias is they would all give you a different side of him: a proud Marine, Vietnam Veteran, civilian employee of Ft. Bliss and McGregor Range, a loving husband, baseball player, a baby brother, wonderful dad, practical jokester, excellent grandfather, and Tom Selleck’s look alike. He was all of that and so much more. He was a man of few words but a heart full of love especially for his wife, children, his pride and joy the grandkids, his sister and his family. He is preceded in death by his parents Reyes and Estanislada DeLa O, brothers Juni DeLa O and Robert DeLa O. He is survived by his wife Terry DeLa O, daughter Vanessa S. Ruiz(Robert), son William R. DeLa O, grandchildren Daniel I. Lopez, Marina J. Ruiz, John M. Rodriguez, sister Anita D. Martinez(Tomas), his close cousins, in-laws, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Due to COVID restrictions, memorial and funeral services will be kept private. The family appreciates your prayers and understanding during this difficult time. Till we meet again... Semper Fi.
