Mathew Kerin passed away to rest in the arms of our God surrounded by those who loved him deeply, his wife Brenda and family members on Monday July 9th 2012. Mathew is survived by his 2 sons, Christopher and Damien, his legacies. In the last four months of his life, Mathew fought a battle for his life and his focus was the 3 individuals whom he said made his life complete: Brenda, Christopher and Damian. Mathew was born on July 21, 1983 to Elisa Kerin and Brian Kerin and had a sister, Jennifer. Mathew comes from a larger family and is survived by numerous aunts and uncles, nephews and nieces. He worked at ADP. Mathew is preceded in death by his grandparents, Agripina Magana and Pablo Magana and his cousin Loren Gutierrez. Mathew’s foremost passion was Brenda and the boys, then UT Austin Longhorns, motorcycle, making music and art. Mathew was prolific at making music with items. He would start with a beat and improve until he created a song. A little known fact is that Mathew loved to draw. He would imagine himself taking a wall and drawing on it. But what his family will remember him the most will be his poems. Mathew loved to create and write poems to his wife. Mathew will be greatly missed by all. Visitation and vigil were held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
