Mary Ester Whiting

Mary Ester Whiting 78, a long time resident of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully in the loving presence of her family on Friday, February 15, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Ester was born, the youngest of three children to Lonnie David and Lottie May (Allen) Moore on April 12, 1929 in Walnut Shade, Missouri. She spent her childhood years in the Ozarks that she loved so much until graduation from High School. She then married and traveled the world. Ester was a gifted and talented china painter. She also found great joy in Bluegrass music, gardening, collecting antiques and making friends with the many birds and hummingbirds that happily visited her backyard. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, Laura Lee (Gerald) Pucel of El Paso, Texas, Mark Allen Condes of Loleta, California and Nancy Ann Hardeman of Enid, Oklahoma. She was a loving and devoted Grandmother to 10 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Wennie (Orville) Stephens and sister-in-law Iva (Wesley) Folck both of Walnut Shade, Missouri. Sister-in-law, Pauline Cox of Lubbock, Texas, Nancy Meyer of Socorro, New Mexico, Mildred (Fred) Garms and Bobby Whiting of Bosque Farms, New Mexico, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Whiting is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, John Albert Whiting, her parents and Brother Bert Moore, three of her children: Michael Moore Condes, Suzanne Juliet Condes, and Cathy Marlene Johnson, her stepdaughter Gloria Jane Duke, and one Great Granddaughter Ashley Grisham. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 PM, and funeral services at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast. Interment will be private. A mother’s love is a blessing.
