Mary Helen Walton

Mary H. Walton, 81, El Paso, TX, went to be with her Lord, Monday, February 25, 2019. She was born June 13, 1937 in El Paso, TX to David Cuestas and Dolores Corral Cuestas. Mary Helen grew up in El Paso and graduated from Austin High School. She married Ken Walton in 1957 with whom she had her only child, Kenneth David Walton, who preceded her in death in 2008. For 34 years, Mary Helen worked at Fort Bliss Operations Support in assignment & transfers of military personnel. After her retirement, Mary Helen became a real estate agent and proudly served as coordinator of Angel Tree Ministries in El Paso. She worshipped as an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Her favorite pastimes were studying God’s word with her ladies bible study group and “hanging out” with her Red Hat Group, The Betty Boopers! Mary Helen is survived by her sister Margaret (Margie) Armendariz (Carlos) and brother David Cuestas (Millie). Her extended family includes loving nieces Loretta Silva, Tish Hughes, Bethy Armendariz, Mitzie Schoeppner, and nephews Carlos G. Armendariz, Michael Armendariz, and Arthur Cuestas. And a beloved friend Laura Munoz. Gathering of Remembrance will begin at 2:00pm to 4:00pm with a Prayer Service at 3:00pm on Sunday, March 03, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive.
