Mary Jane Navarrette

Mary jane Navarrette was born March 02, 1984 in El Paso, TX. Mary was the youngest of three children. Her early years in high school she played the trumpet in the school marching band, participated in basketball, track, and even with her small frame of 4ft and 105 pounds, she was also in women’s wrestling. Mary participated in a business club and Graduated with honors. She attended Job Corps in El Paso, TX and received a nursing assistant certification she spent the time attending college and working as a nursing assistant in California she sheared many stories of how she would entertain the elderly in the nursing home with dance and singing her love for helping others started to grow. Mary Jane Graduated from University of Phoenix with a bachelor’s degree specializing in human services. She moved to Austin TX to pursue a graduate degree in psychology at St Edwards University in Austin Texas. There she worked her dream job helping young people get back on track with their lives. She told us stories of how she would spend time with them and take them on field trips. She loved her work. One of Mary Jane’s many passions were to travel she wanted to spend as much time with family and friends as she could. All who knew her knew that the love of her life was her beloved cat Buttons. We will never forget her love for people her laughter her spunky personality her fearlessness everything she did she made it fun. Mary Jane will never be forgotten by her friends and especially her family we will truly miss her. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
