Mary Allen Morgan

March 13, 1938 — November 22, 2020

Mary Florence Morgan John 3:16 For God so loved the world He gave is only begotten so whosoever believes in Him shall have eternal life… Mary Florence Morgan, 82, the ROCK of the Morgan family, was called home peacefully today, with her family by her side November 22, 2020. Mary’s life adventure is a story of strong Christian faith and family values, love, adoration, giving and inspiration. From very humble beginnings, born on March 13, 1938, Mary Florence was the 5th child of eleven spawned by the late Jimmy Lee Allen and Flora Varner Allen, in Fredonia, Alabama. Mary was a leader and a role model for the Allen family and in her community from a very young age. After graduating, with Honors, from Five Points High School in 1956, Mary was the first child in the Allen Family to go to college, on an academic scholarship, at Tuskegee University in Montgomery, Alabama. She received an Associate's Degree in Bookkeeping from Tuskegee University in 1958. 1958 was a year that changed Mary’s life forever. Mary got married to her childhood sweetheart and soulmate of 68 wonderful years, the late CSM(R) Thomas Morgan, of Roanoke, Alabama. The first son, Rinza Tyrone Morgan, was born in Providence Rhode Island on September 16, 1958. They would live a life of love and adventured spanning three continents and several countries as they grew a family during their 35 plus years of marriage while serving in the United States Army. God would bless Mary and Tom with two more sons, Thomas Morgan Jr. born at Fort Benning, Georgia, on the way to El Paso on February 22, 1961, and Anthony Jerome Morgan born in Nuremberg, Germany, September 22, 1963. As much as the military moved the Morgan family all over the world to many different homes and locations, Mary was the crucible of strength and determination that kept the team Morgan a very strong, prosperous, and cohesive unit. Raising three athletic, intelligent, but admittedly knucklehead boys without dad around at times, was certainly “No Easy Task”, yet Mary was up to that task, and made those young and very energetic boys grow up to be respectable, responsible, and well educated, fine young men that all served in the military as well. Mary Florence lived a life that epitomized her favorite bible verse John 3:16 (…SO LOVED…SHE GAVE…!) There is not a more giving and loving mom on the planet than Mary Florence Morgan in the opinion of those three young men. Mary gave her time and energy to everything that was good and worthwhile. God, her faith, and her family were the center of her life! She taught Sunday school and attended Church on Sundays: and the entire family would clean the church on Saturdays. It truly was a family affair each week of the Morgan family’s formative years. Mary was also endowed with academic excellence from a very early age, and she perpetuated that strength in her children as she was their role model for achieving academic excellence at every level of schooling from primary schooling through graduate degrees. Her love of education inspired her youngest son, Anthony to serve a career educator and highly successful coach, in career spanning over 30 years. Mary’s education lead her to work in the finance industry. Starting as an account for the State National Bank in El Paso, Mary’s business career would span over 30 years, working in Germany and El Paso. Mary was Manager the El Paso Teacher’s School District Federal Credit Union first and later moved to the Manager of the Ysleta Teacher’s Federal Credit Union. She passed her accounting principles and love for finance to both her son's. Mary also had a love for bowling and taught her boys to bowl at a very early age. The boys, like their mom, excelled and won many bowling league championships in Germany. Mary Morgan was the Master of the Turkey! One of Mary’s favorite hobbies was floral gardening as she always had an expectation to become a Florist one day. Her selfless devotion to family, friends, and giving has left a legacy of love for all to emulate. Mary was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Most importantly and emphatically, Mary and her Military family of sisters and best friends, Florine Harris, Bobby Allen, Barbara Jones, Carol Messler, Margaret Mandes, Mildred Shedrick, Aileen Gardener, Delores Pate, Joe Young, Paulette Corpening, formed the very the backbone of their respective husband’s success in leading soldiers of our military family. Without this wonderful Band of Sisters, our military as we know it, would be null and void of the amazing freedom we all have enjoyed living in The Land of the Free, because of these Brave women! In Mary Morgan’s memory, we salute all the military moms over time who have held this responsibility, and served our country so selfless and gallantly. We are eternally proud and humbled. God bless them all and the amazing families they have spawned!!!! After a dedicated life of selfless service and commitment to the military, Mary and Thomas moved back to Alabama where they bought a farm and continued to serve their families and the community back home in Five Points, Alabama. The adorable couple would find their way back to Texas for their twilight years where together they helped to raise, mentor and inspire their two sons Tommy and Jerome, along with their grandchildren Thomas, Megan, Michael, Jasmine, Jalen, Mikayla, Jordyn and great grandchildren Rinza, Jathan, Darien, and newest addition Malia. Mary Florence was predeceased by her oldest son Rinza Tyrone Morgan in 2004 and her loving husband CSM(R) Thomas Morgan in 2016. Mary Florence is survived by her two younger children: Thomas Morgan Jr, of Westlake, Texas and Anthony J. Morgan of Frisco, Texas. And the many brothers and sisters spawned from our extended military families of the Jones, Gardeners, Mandes, Pates, Shedricks, Phillips and Corpenings. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren mentioned by name above. Mary Florence Morgan’s burial will be held on Monday, December 7, 2020, at 9:30am. Where she will join her loving husband of 68 years CSM(R) Thomas Morgan. The location is Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Due to COVID concerns in El Paso, her life celebration for friends and family will be held at a later date in the Spring of 2021. In Lieu of sending flowers, donations may be made The United States Military Academy in Loving Memory of Mary Florence Morgan, Son Tommy, Class of 1993, Granddaughter Jasmine, Class of 2014 and Grandson Jalen Class of 2023.
