Mary Ann Moore

February 4, 1935 — February 6, 2010

Mary Ann Moore, 75, beloved wife, mother, grammie and friend passed away on February 6th after an 11 month struggle with cancer. Mary Ann was a native El Pasoan, the only child of Ruth and Kenneth Armstrong. She attended Crockett Elementary and El Paso High School and went on to obtain a teaching degree from Texas Western College (UTEP). She taught kindergarten at Hart Elementary and volunteered with the Head Start Program. A proud and active member of the community Mary Ann was affiliated with Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, The Junior League of El Paso, The Women’s Symphony League, The Women’s Bar Auxiliary, multiple PTA organizations and other philanthropic and service organizations. She was an avid gardener, animal lover, talented artist, voracious reader, engrossing storyteller, and a loving and devoted wife, mother and grammie. It is with broken hearts that we say good-bye. She will be missed always. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Brunson Moore, daughters and sons-in-law Monica and Michael Cation, Melissa and Gary Beaty, Corie and Brandon Brashears. Grandchildren, Kinsey and Kimber Cation, Connor Beaty, Riley Brashears. Cousin Anne Simpson Rettig. Memorial Service will be held 11:30 am, Friday, February 12, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Memorial contributions are requested to be sent to CIMA Hospice at 6090 Surety Dr., # 102, El Paso, TX 79905. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
